Quests in MA:O can be picked up by talking to quest givers in the game, who will be seen with a floating (!) above their head.

Quests are a great way of earning experience points, but many quests also unlock new locations, abilities, crafting recipes, or vendors for the player that complete the quest. Many quests also offer unique items that you can not obtain in any other way.
